History
The Women’s Leadership Foundation was legally formed in 2002 by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce. It was re-constituted in 2011 with a focus of launching its flagship Boardbound program in 2012. The Foundation set a target that it would be self-sufficient within five years. This target was met in the Fall of 2017 when the Women’s Leadership Foundation transitioned from support from the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce CEO and staff to operate on a standalone basis with a strong working board and contracted support. An Executive Director joined in 2020.
2023 will serve as the Women’s Leadership Foundation’s and its Boardbound programs’ final year, with our current cohorts completing the last Corporate Boardbound programs in September.
